Shifting
Minnesota’s
Housing Narrative
Home Stories is a statewide initiative to transform how Minnesotans talk about housing, making the case for stronger, more sustained investment in homes and communities.
At the heart of this work is a messaging framework designed to help anyone (advocates, local governments, chambers of commerce, nonprofits, storytellers, really anyone) communicate about housing in ways that connect, clarify, and inspire. We focus on values-driven communication that builds public understanding and support for solutions that ensure everyone has a safe, stable place to live.
This effort is anchored by Heading Home Minnesota Funders Collaborative, and is being built in partnership with organizations and individuals across the state to grow an expansive, community-rooted network for narrative change.

Story Collection at
Fall 2025 Conferences
As part of our work to build public understanding and support for housing solutions, we’re gathering stories from Minnesotans whose lives intersect with housing: residents, service providers, advocates, administrators, and more.

Why Narrative
Change Matters
Housing is often discussed in technical terms like budgets, units, and zoning. But behind every policy and decision are people. Home Stories helps advocates, nonprofits, and community leaders communicate about housing in ways that are personal, powerful, and persuasive.
